Clean room elevators requires a filter, so the size is different from ordinary freight elevator and passenger & freight elevator.

CNS 2688 Code for Building Elevator

• The light in the Machine Room should be above 100 LUX (1M candlelight).
• Ventilation equipment should be able to maintain the temperature in the machine room at below 40 degrees centigrade.
• Exit door of machine room should have a lock (can be locked inside the door, but should not be locked outside the door, this means the door can be opened without using a key)
• Passage and stairs to the machine room should not be blocked. The stairs should have a balustrade, and its horizontal elevation should not rise over 60 degrees.
• Exit door of machine room should be automatic closing.
• Building materials of elevator should be of Grade A refractory material.
• NOTE. You shall not install any wiring inside the hoist way that has nothing to do with the elevator.
• Any part under the hoist way that is being used, can be used, or seems being used by the worker, elevator balance weight should be equipped with an emergency safety device the same as that of the car.

Information Required in Purchasing Elevator

• Load (passenger limit).
• Speed of elevator.
• Number of floor call.
• Furnishing specification (exit and car model).
• Related construction blueprint of elevator.
• List of elevator accessory and function.
• Power, voltage, and frequency.

Other than Engineering (responsibility of owner or builder)

• Hoistway, machine room, lighting , fire fighting, ventilation, water proofing, drainage, exit (with lock and door bow).
• Cinder and foam concrete on the floor after installation of machine room.
• patching up work of component reserved holes after installation.
• Piping and wiring work of elevator intercom.
• Power layout to the specified location in the machine room and complete the grounding and installation of the safety switch.
• Provide working power.
